Dirty Energy Required to Make Solar
It requires dirty energy to make clean energy? Maybe the naysayers have a point! (nah)
Interesting development today on the farm - looks like they're having an outdoor in-ground cookout. The installers are trying to trench in the line from the shop to the power pole and the ground is frozen solid as well as very firmly packed so they have to heat up the ground so they can get the trencher through it. To do this, they're dropping coal onto the ground where the trench needs to go and blasting it with a torch. Had they been able to start a little sooner in the year, they'd probably be done by now, but this being Minnesota, the extreme cold is just the challenges to contend with.
Compounding matters, I have a Cat5e line buried under there somewhere to get IP traffic from the house to the shed, so we're worried about hitting that. Crossing fingers that they miss it, but if they hit it we'll get it fixed, just might be sort of a pain.
I'll know quickly if they hit it because this IP camera mounted on my shop will suddenly go dark.
